As the country celebrates Heroes Day, Viva artist Ronnie Liang has dedicated his time and talent at the “Army Show” (A Tribute To Our Heroes), Amphitheater, Taguig City last August 25.
“Our soldiers are our protectors. They are always here to protect our country and its people. I always admire them for their courage and dedication,” he said.
During the event dedicated to heroes, the singer-actor performed his hit songs “Ngiti,” and the Barangay LS’ most requested songs “Ligaya,” and “Yakap.”
“I’m happy that I made them happy. People were singing with me, they were cheering. Performing live sa harap ng ating mga mahal na sundalo, it gave me the sense of fulfillment. Nagiging instrumento kasi ‘yung music namin bilang artist sa mga taong nakikipaglaban at patuloy na lumalaban. Napapasaya namin sila. That’s what’s important,” he shared.
Other Viva artists present at the event were Matteo Guidicelli and Katrina Velarde.
“I saw Matteo there. Alam naman lahat ng tao na I admire his girlfriend Sarah G. Her professionalism, her artistry. May picture kami ni Matteo, may nagsabi nga “the pilot and the army.” Matteo has finished his training, ako naman I am finishing my pilot course and soon will be flying.”
It was all worth it for Ronnie as it filled his cup as a person and as an artist. Serving people through his gift is what motivates him to do better. Though busy with his career, he always makes sure that there is time to serve. That’s what makes him so blessed—doing the things he loves with care and dedication.
“I salute all our heroes. We are here as one because of them. And to our modern day heroes who continue to offer their lives to Filipinos, who continue to fight, who continue to protect the country, who continue to show love, I admire them all. And I hope, we all find the “hero” in us,” he told Orange Magazine.
Meanwhile, as Resorts World Manila celebrates 10th anniversary, Ronnie Liang also joined other celebrities for “Run With Me” at SM MOA concert grounds, of the same day.
Started at 4:00 in the morning, he was more than willing to dedicate his time and energy.
“Kahit galing akong abroad, I didn’t mind. Kahit pagod pa, okay lang. What’s good about it, is that it allowed me to help by just running. It was super fun and fulfilling.”
Being one of the celebrity leaders for Orange Team during the event with a cause, his team got 3rd place with 900k cash prize to be given to their chosen charity “EPCALM Adult Leukemia Foundation of the Philippines,” the first non-profit organization in the Philippines to provide faith-based, holistic care, and support for both leukemia sufferers and their families, as well as helping raise leukemia awareness and research support.
“I hope we could all run for a cause. Simpleng bagay pero malaking tulong para sa ibang tao. I love helping other people, that becomes part of my life. The sense of having blessings is to share. Hangga’t kaya nating tumulong, tumulong tayo. I’m grateful din that Resorts World Manila got me and asked me to participate.”
Finished 10km, Ronnie said that an event like this is what the country needs as there are a lot of people who need support.
“I highly recommend running for a cause as it provides each runner an extra reward, an extra reason, an extra purpose for running. It increases the value you experience when you run and it helps motivate you on those difficult days,” the Viva artist ended.
