The Filipino Channel (TFC) in the Middle East was one with the Philippine Consulate and the Filipino Community in Jeddah in making history during the recently concluded “Mabuhay Manila: Sama Saya sa Happy Land sa Jeddah” held at the Atallah Happy Land Park in Jeddah, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
“Mabuhay Manila: Sama Saya sa Happy Land sa Jeddah” is the first-ever major outdoor Filipino festival-concert approved by the General Entertainment Authority (GEA), the agency which oversees the entertainment activities in Saudi Arabia to “diversify and enrich entertainment experiences around the Kingdom” as stated on their website.
“We are honored to be part of this historic Filipino event, and we thank the Philippine Consulate and the Filipino Community in Jeddah for giving us this opportunity to work with them in making history in Saudi Arabia. It is also interesting to note that ABS-CBN The Filipino Channel has the full support of the General Entertainment Authority (GEA) in bringing more artists closer to our kababayans in the coming months and years,” said ABS-CBN Europe, Middle East, and Africa (EMEA) Managing Director Joseph Arnie Garcia.
Headlining the “Mabuhay Manila: Sama Saya sa Happy Land Jeddah 2019” is Philippine’s Ultimate Heartthrob Piolo Pascual who serenaded the crowd with his rendition of all-time favorite songs like “Be My Lady”, Mangarap Ka”, and “The Gift”.
Before the show concluded, the General Entertainment Authority representative Noshen Ahmed Waseem and Saudi Brothers’ (the holding company of Atallah Happy Land) HR and Public Relations Manager Hany Samargandi presented a plaque of appreciation to Piolo for performing at the “Mabuhay Manila: Sama Saya sa Happy Land Jeddah 2019” concert.
Grateful for the recognition and honored to be part of the historic Filipino event in Jeddah, the Kapamilya artist gave a short parting message to the overseas Filipinos where he encouraged them to “appreciate life” and keep their positive disposition despite the challenges that come their way.
Serving as the icing on the top of this already special day was when 250 event-attendees were given a chance to personally meet Piolo Pascual and have a photo opportunity with him, with the photos now available for download on faceboook.com/TFCMiddleEast.
Aside from the concert, the event-goers also enjoyed a delectable variety of Filipino foods featured in the different booths around the venue, which literally gave non-Filipinos a taste of the Philippine cuisines.
