There comes a time when two people who know each other very well need to decide where to draw the line between friendship and romance. “Linya,” huhsmile’s newest single released under MCA Music, speaks of such a time.
The song was composed by Eunice Gatdula and produced by Tiny Corpuz. Sam de Leon provided additional arrangements. This new single demonstrates huhsmile’s distinct talents as a singer, storyteller, and composer.
Experiences like those in “Linya” are all too real for some of us. huhsmile was inspired by two very close friends who struggled with labeling their relationship.
“I felt like I wanted to put into words the things that they couldn’t,” she said. The process of recording and producing the single was straightforward, she adds. “It was a very complete song in my mind,” she says.
She credits her producer and arranger for helping solidify the sound the way they wanted it to be. It was just a matter of recording the song’s vocals. The resulting vocal harmonies provide added texture to a tune that has catchy melodic hooks and relatable lyrics.
Indeed, huhsmile believes that “Linya” is “a very easy song to get into and put yourself in.” She adds, “If you’re looking for an acoustic rooftop band song, I hope that you give ‘Linya’ a chance.” If there is one message she wants her listeners to hear, it is this: “Sana okay lang kayo.”
