PLDT Enterprise, together with Metro Pacific Investments Corp. (MPIC), PLDT-Smart Foundation Inc. (PSF), and the Department of Health, extends its support to the vaccination program of Davao City as the region aims to achieve herd immunity against the disease.
The initiative aids the local government’s COVID-19 efforts by prioritizing the inoculation of 5,000 economic frontliners and their dependents who reside in the city. Through this, PLDT Enterprise aims to spur economic recovery and boost resiliency for businesses – micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) – in Mindanao with more of the local population getting vaccinated.
Providing access to the vaccines and getting more people inoculated helps curb the spread of the virus and foster people’s confidence in their day-to-day activities prior to the pandemic.
PLDT Enterprise Customer Relationship Management Head for Mindanao Ben Melasa said that, “reaching herd immunity in Mindanao is vital for businesses, especially for MSMEs to be able to operate at full capacity while continuing adherence to the health and operational guidelines of the government.”
“We support our local businesses through implementing continuity projects which would allow them to operate despite the pandemic. As we extend our assistance to the local government of Davao, we seek to propel industries by allowing more people to receive immunizations—which is the most important thing towards recovery,” Melasa added.
Meanwhile, Jovy Hernandez, ePLDT President & CEO and SVP & Head for PLDT and Smart Enterprise Business Groups said that PLDT Enterprise continues to partner with various institutions to help ramp up COVID-19 response initiatives across the country, especially to the business sector.
“Our goal is to help businesses get back on their feet, not only through technology solutions, but also through various assistance programs such as this. We at PLDT Group continue to endeavor helping the local and national government by boosting their vaccination efforts for the various communities across the country,” Hernandez said.
Since last year, PLDT Enterprise has been conducting COVID-19 recovery programs by teaming up with local and private institutions in extending assistance and relief to Filipinos.
Likewise, the group has also been providing connectivity solutions to local and municipal governments to enable reliable internet to their constituents as they continue their online learning, online business, and other digital transactions.
