Araneta City wants your recyclables!
The City of Firsts once again partners with Basic Environmental System and Technologies (BEST), Inc. and the Environmental Protection and Waste Management Department of Quezon City in advocating for a more sustainable future for everyone with the return of Araneta City’s We Want Your Recyclables! trash to cashback program.
For the whole month of October, everyone is encouraged to bring recyclable materials such as PET bottles, old newspapers, and aluminum beverage cans, and exchange them for exciting rewards! All you need to do is visit the “We want your recyclables” booth at the Araneta City Times Square Avenue (beside the Araneta City Bus Station).
“We are excited to bring Quezon City’s Trash to Cashback program to the City of Firsts once again. The first iteration earlier this year was a huge success and we can’t wait to host this activity one more time because we know that many QCitizens are eager to see it again in Araneta City,” Marjorie Go, AVP for Marketing, said.
Before bringing your recyclables to the booth, just make sure to clean them and properly segregate them per waste type. For a smooth and seamless transaction, create a bXTRA account beforehand. Different recyclable trash items have corresponding environmental points, and these points are equivalent to cashback that will be transferred to your bXTRA account.
These points can be exchanged for basic commodities such as rice, eggs, bread, fruits, vegetables, and other essentials such as toiletries.
“Waste management is an important component of our strategy to achieve sustainability, and through this effort we are encouraging residents of Quezon City to do their part in addressing waste,” Go said. “Not only are we giving them a chance to properly dispose of their recyclable waste, they can also be rewarded with essential items and basic commodities.”
We Want Your Recyclables! will run until October 31, 2021 only.
