AirAsia Philippines Chief Executive Officer Ricky Isla, together with the airline’s Head of Communications and Public Affairs Steve Dailisan and Head of Network Inez Jose, meets with Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Jaime Bautista on Monday to reiterate the airline’s support of the DOTr’s vision and plans for the country’s aviation industry.
Secretary Bautista, cognizant of the rebound of travel, aims to further develop the aviation sector on four key fronts: safety, affordability, accessibility, and convenience – the same principles on which AirAsia has been built.
AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla shares, “Sec. Bautista’s visionary leadership is attested to by his stellar performance as one of the country’s aviation leaders. His priorities for air transport are aligned with our own values. Safety, affordability, accessibility and convenience in air travel are what we purvey through the airasia Super App, a digital, travel and lifestyle platform that enables guests to have a frictionless end-to-end travel experience.”
The world’s best low-cost airline also shared its two-year plans with the transportation secretary, which include the expansion of its domestic network to three to five more destinations by Q2 2023; and the addition of more international routes in other regions as the airline reinforces its services for Overseas Filipino Workers.
“We are set to achieve our domestic pre-COVID capacity by end-year and our international by Q2 next year. Consequently, this marks the onset of our full recovery which will fuel our vigorous expansion plans in the coming years. Secretary Bautista’s vision for the aviation industry is very empowering for all airline companies who are recuperating from the challenges that have been posed by the pandemic,” adds Isla.
