  • The world’s best low-cost airline sees a more bullish international travel market demand in Q4 of 2022, especially in its top-performing routes such as Seoul and Singapore
  • Supporting the demand is a 20% off promo happening from October 17 to 23

AirAsia Philippines is strengthening its partnership with transportation and tourism agencies present in its routes as travel demand peaks this Q4. The world’s best low-cost airline recently met with policymakers from Singapore and South Korea – two of its top-preferred international destinations – to reaffirm AirAsia’s commitment to driving larger foot traffic to these countries this Q4.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla and AirAsia Singapore CEO Logan Velaitham recently paid a courtesy visit to Dr. Emmanuel Fernandez, Chargé d’Affaires and Consul General of the Philippine Embassy in Singapore, to discuss the growing demand for Manila-Singapore flights. Singapore ranks third to fourth among top-preferred destinations by AirAsia guests as the airline flies to the Lion City four times weekly. Isla and Velaitham also touched on bringing AirAsia’s cargo, BigPay, and Super App verticals to Singapore in service of Filipinos living in the country.

Isla also met with Hon. Yonghyun Choi, First Secretary & Infrastructure and Transportation Attache from the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in the Philippines, to discuss the current frequency of the airline to Seoul: Manila (7x weekly) and Cebu (3x weekly). AirAsia Philippines is set to grow its Cebu-Seoul frequency to four times a week come November.

AirAsia Philippines CEO Ricky Isla shares, “We are determined to achieve our pre-pandemic international capacity by Q2 of 2023, and surpass our records come the second half. The demand for international travel is getting stronger every month as more countries relax their border protocols. We plan on increasing our frequency to our current routes and grow our number of destinations before the year ends.”

AirAsia Philippines saw an outstanding demand for international travel at the recently held BDO Travel sale, wherein 55 percent of total sales came from travel bookings going to Seoul, Singapore, Osaka, and Bangkok. Domestically, Caticlan remains at the top of the list of preferred destinations.

AirAsia CEO Ricky Isla meets with DOT Secretary Ma. Esperanza Christina Frasco to discuss the recovery and eventual growth of the local tourism industry post-pandemic

The world’s best low-cost airline also recently visited Tourism Secretary Christina Frasco to align the airline’s growth and recovery plan with the vision of the agency for the local tourism sector. Among the highlights of the discussion are the need for better regional connectivity, an expanded inter-island route network, and the promotion of lesser-known local destinations.

AirAsia Philippines, true to its commitment to spurring domestic and international tourism demand, rolls out regular promos. Guests traveling from 1 November 2022 to 30 June 2023 can purchase flights at 20 percent off until October 23! The airasia Super App readily shows all the destinations for which the discount is applicable for.
