In pursuit of providing better service for Filipinos, Asialink Finance Corporation achieves the ISO 9001:2015 certification on quality management system – a first for the Asialink Group of Companies.
Under the provision of System Development and Application Enhancements of Financing Companies, Asialink successfully accomplished a rigid audit and process review and development by the country’s leading certifying organization, SGS Philippines.
“This project started two years ago before pandemic when we decided to sharpen our own accounting system (SOFIA) that caters to the entire Asialink group through a global standard that will certify our processes,” reveals Asialink President and COO Eillen B. Mangubat.
According to Ms. Mangubat, the certification process began with the gap analysis in the midst of the pandemic in March 2020 and involved multiple departments including HR, Purchasing and IT. Despite the challenges of telecommute, the technical working group managed to deliver and achieve the certification.
“We have already made a lot of progress in our operations and we want to be more efficient moving forward.”
“When we talk about a management system that’s the backbone of an organization and it actually controls systematically, with of course transparent way of managing all the processes; it will basically streamline and at the end that would be a good return of investment to the company,” said SGS PH Business Director of Knowledge, Roger Villanueva.
Asialink CEO Robert B. Jordan, Jr. expressed that this step initiates the group’s future plans of buffing up its fintech capabilities including its own AI system. “With this ISO Certification, we (Asialink) can go a long way,” he said.
“Our mid-term goal is that our SOFIA will be able to get the BIR accreditation. So, we are working for it and hopefully get it within two to three years,” said Ms. Mangubat.
