The story of Bitshares Labs Inc., or simply BLINC, is set in the backdrop of pine trees in Baguio City. In the heart of one of the country’s favorite summer destinations, a group of freelancers headed by Jan Emmet M. Yngson, now BLINC’s President/CEO, saw an opportunity to build a company that businesses can turn to to establish their online presence.
BLINC offers web design and development, app development, branding, and online consulting to help businesses improve their digital footprint. Apart from that, they also started offering blockchain-centric solutions for banking and currency exchange. Put simply, blockchain describes transactions made with cryptocurrency. It’s just like your bank book in traditional banking, except fully digital and shared across computer systems within the blockchain.
To further strengthen their hold over a rising opportunity, the company decided to join the Globe Partner Network (GPN), a partnership program of Globe Business for technology companies that aims to accelerate business growth and build better business communities. Through GPN, businesses can become an accredited Business Partner or Referring Partner of Globe Business, wherein they can enjoy commissions on every successful sale or referral. In addition, they also gain access to various media and business networks of Globe Business.
See how this partnership has helped Bitshares Labs position themselves strongly in their industry.
Unlocking Opportunities in Blockchain
“There’s not a number of developers creating applications under the Bitshares blockchain,” explains BLINC Executive Managing Director Henry Banayat when asked why they chose this platform specifically. “We wanted to support the ecosystem because it has all the fundamental things that are needed by every blockchain.”
One of BLINC’s key projects was an online platform that provided online sellers and customers with a way to connect, communicate, and identify certain drop off points for parcels in Baguio City. But since then, the company has pivoted to online web development projects, helping individuals and groups go through their digital transformation journey.
“We also promote play-to-earn programs that would foster additional income for every family to at least [be able to] place food on the table.”
The global pandemic and the world’s sudden shift to online or remote work gave BLINC a silver lining in what could have been a much bleaker situation. “During the pandemic, [we really thought we would go under], until everybody started signing up wanting to be online.”
Strengthening Credibility Through a Reliable Partnership
Enter Globe Partner Network. The new demand for online platforms gave BLINC new opportunities, but it also presented a new problem: the need for connectivity. “If you’re going to be full-time online selling, you need a better connection. That’s where Globe Business comes in – to provide connectivity,” shares President/CEO Jan Emmet Yngson. With Globe Partner Network, they were able to bring in more clients and establish better connectivity, specifically in the neighboring region of La Union.
“We started with one of the restaurants in La Union, who contacted us. They were actually more interested in the website… but with our partnership with Globe Business, [they also got] a wired connection. [The partnership] clicked because we provide web development, while Globe Business provides reliable internet connection. It gave our customer the ability to serve their clientele online.” Yngson explains that aside from just providing connectivity and web development, they were also able to teach their partner restaurants how to manage social media, which was part of the training they received from Globe Business.
“And everything is being done online. That’s what’s beautiful about it. Even during the pandemic, you can establish your business online through better connectivity and digital transformation service. We’re able to meet our goal to sustain livelihoods.”
Growing Further in the Digital Market
Amidst the backdrop of a global pandemic, we are seeing more and more small to medium enterprises establish themselves in the digital market. There is no shortage of talent and willingness to learn and adapt to what is fast becoming one of the most digital ages of our time. Banayat’s advice for young entrepreneurs is to stay confident “and to own up to their responsibilities. That’s the one thing that would create the environment of trust.”
And this environment, for Banayat and the rest of Bitshares Labs Inc., has only been strengthened by their partnership with Globe Partner Network. “[The trust] is actually [there already]… by partnering with Globe Business. ”
