BreederDAO and StackLeague launch blockchain hackathon this August

BreederDAO in partnership with StackLeague launches Genesis Blocks: BreederDAO Hackathon happening on August 19-21, 2022 with a cash prize pool of Php 200,000. BreederDAO is a company that specializes in breeding and crafting NFT characters and game items to be used in play-to-earn games. BreederDAO’s founders are young talented individuals that were featured in Forbes’ 2022 30 under 30.

The hackathon aims to showcase Filipino talent in application development especially leveraging blockchain technology. It will feature the best of each competitor’s creativity and talent in solving real-world challenges. “Hosting events like this are always a joy because it shows you that great ideas abound, Filipino developers just need to be given the chance to show off what they’re able to do.” shared Renz Chong, CEO of BreederDAO.

The hackathon will challenge its participants on their drive for innovation by building applications based on Solidity. Nico Odulio, Chief Technology Officer of BreederDAO remarked; “We are proud to help mold the next generation of developers, whose creativity needs to be nurtured as we usher in the next phase in the metaverse’s expansion.” Aspiring participants can enter as an individual or of a team of up to four members for this event. Qualified participants must be of legal age and must be knowledgeable of Solidity, React, Python, and Java.

Mentoring will be facilitated by Paul Cas of BreederDAO and Marco Romero of UBX Philippines. The competitors will be judged by Nico Odulio, Marco Romero, and Jake San Juan of Tokemak.

The top 3 winners will receive the following cash prizes:

  • 1st Place – Php 100,000
  • 2nd Place – Php 50,000
  • 3rd Place – Php 30,000

Aside from the top 3 winners, there will be special category winners who will get P10,000 for the following criteria; Most Optimal Code and Best Presenter. Also, winners will get a pre-qualification status for employment with BreederDAO.

Truly, this will be a fun and eventful series for coders and programmers. This Hackathon will bring out the best in Filipino talent. Through this partnership, BreederDAO and StackLeague can create a universe of tech talents.
