BTS releases “Stay Alive (Prod. SUGA of BTS),” the OST for HYBE’s original story 7FATES: CHAKHO. Created through a collaboration with BTS, the urban fantasy story portrays confrontations between humans and the Beom tribe in a corrupt world.
7FATES: CHAKHO is a reinterpretation of chakhogapsa, a legendary group of tiger hunters from the Joseon Dynasty. The original story unfolds around main characters: ZEHA who was born between a beom and human; HARU who became human from a rock that guarded the world of the beoms for thousands of years; DO-GEON who survived alone in the back alleys of the violent city; HWAN who becomes a beom hunter after losing his family to beoms; HOSU who has golden eyes after being kidnapped by beoms; JOOAN who falls in love with a beom and; CEIN who gains supernatural power of seeing one’s past life after surviving from the beoms’ attack. The seven beom hunters get together to save the chaotic city.
BTS’ “Stay Alive (Prod. SUGA of BTS)” is a pop ballad that exudes a dreamy, sublime energy that complements the storyline and atmosphere of 7FATES: CHAKHO. BTS’ SUGA took on the role of producer of the song while Jung Kook’s soulful vocals capture the essence of the story’s characters and narrative. The title, “Stay Alive,” is a nod to the characters in the story as they try to survive in a vicious world. The lyrics explore an isolated boy’s earnest heart and message to himself and friends who he meets in that vicious world.
