A towering Christmas tree festooned with sinamay streamers, capiz shell ornaments, and woven miniatures became the scenic centerpiece at the main lobby of Crimson Hotel Filinvest City in Alabang, Muntinlupa as the hotel went all out for its official tree-lighting ceremony.
This year’s theme – Dito Tayo sa Pasko – certainly pulled on their heartstrings as the event held on the evening of November 9th, 2022 was punctuated by the many elements that characterize a truly Filipino Christmas. The Tree-lighting Ceremony was officiated by hotel General Manager Arlene G. Tongco, Chroma Hospitality Country Manager James Montenegro, Chroma Vice-president for Sales and Marketing Carmela Bocanegra, and Mr. Roger John Smith, deputy city administrator of Muntinlupa.
Likewise, the event also included the formal turnover of Chroma Hospitality’s donation to Project Pink Support Group, the proceeds from October’s Passionately Pink campaign in support of breast cancer conquerors and their families. The organization was represented by Ms. Angie J. Laborte.
A Season of Meaningful Gatherings
In her opening remarks, Tongco stated, “I believe that Christmas 2022 is going to be one punctuated by meaningful gatherings in light of the seclusion we all felt throughout the duration of the pandemic.”
Indeed, guests certainly felt the warm welcome even as they arrived for the event thanks to a bountiful merienda buffet featuring traditional kakanin normally served during the nine mornings of the Misa de Gallo (dawn Masses) held prior to Christmas, including fluffy bibingka, puto bumbong, and steaming cups of just-whisked tsokolate.
A choir made up of employees of the City Government of Muntinlupa serenaded guests with popular Christmas tunes to add to the festive atmosphere.
Live Love Local for the Holidays
Dito Tayo sa Pasko also serves as the culmination of Chroma Hospitality’s Live Love Local program wherein hotels under the Crimson, Quest, and Timberland brands showed off the finest products made by local artisans using uniquely Filipino materials or ingredients.
It also celebrates the best of Filipino hospitality through a selection of staycation packages that will give families a welcome – and elegant – change, a home away from home for the Holidays with uniquely local flair and flavor.
This spirit extends to the different dining offerings and gift selections at Cafe Eight and Baker J where traditional dishes of the Filipino Pasko are given a delectable continental treatment: an East Meets West twist that is bound to delight the senses in numerous ways. Likewise, Alibi Lounge・Bar’s Holiday cocktails add a grown-up spin to traditional treats, definitely perfect for making merry this Christmas and the New Year.
