Cardinal Santos Medical Center (CSMC) commemorated its 48th founding anniversary last August 15, Monday with the theme, “48 Years of Caring for the Filipino”. This milestone was celebrated alongside the grand opening of the extension wing on their 7th floor, which features its new and improved Lifestyle and Wellness Center and areas for the Nursing Services office and Cardiac Rehabilitation.
The new Lifestyle and Wellness Center brings together some of the hospital’s services into one area to cater to the needs of discerning patients. It offers services for Executive Check Up, Men’s and Women’s Wellness, and many more. The center aims to encourage more people to visit the hospital for preventive healthcare with the guidance of CSMC’s experts.
The Nursing Services and Cardiac Rehabilitation are also transferring to new areas to help them more effectively provide the world-class service and care that has become the trademark of Cardinal Santos.
CSMC was originally founded by the Maryknoll Sisters before World War II. After suffering damages due to the war, it was reconstructed with the help of the Roman Archdiocese of Manila (RCAM), then headed by Archbishop Rufino Cardinal Santos. The Colinas Verdes Hospital Managers Corporation (CVHMC) took over the hospital’s management in 2008, and CSMC quickly became one of the country’s leading hospitals.
As of today, CSMC is well-known for its specializations in Cardiology, Neurosurgery, Oncology and Rehabilitation Medicine. It also offers quality service and expertise in Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Pulmonary Medicine, Gastroenterology, Nephrology, Urology and Minimally Invasive Surgery.
“The theme ‘48 Years of Caring for the Filipino’ accurately captures what we are trying to do here every day – providing healing and comfort to the communities we serve,” said CSMC President and CEO, Mr. Raul C. Pagdanganan in a statement. “Forty-eight years of caring, nurturing and of saving lives is indeed an achievement.”
“The challenge for all of us today is to build upon this great legacy in the spirit of servant leadership and the sense of community we continue to foster in our own time here at Cardinal Santos,” Pagdanganan added.
