The journey toward self-acceptance and healing can be a monumental task for anyone. From the time we’re born, our life experiences shape our personality, outlook, and holistic identity as an individual. Certain adversities may trigger us to stay within the bleak recesses of our minds and unless we actively try to get out of it, it can be a vast pithole we can’t get ourselves out of.
Debut author Gresson Peiffer unravels the journey towards true acceptance and healing in her first-ever published memoir, Sharing My Light and Healing Energy. As a half-Filipina, half-Belgian, Peiffer touches on the focal point of her healing journey which stems from the Filipino diaspora and cultural gap she has experienced from her early years well into adulthood.
Such socio-cultural gaps and other external factors play a crucial role in our identity. But for Peiffer, vibrations and energy are more important key players in understanding and healing ourselves from within.
Peiffer unlocked the inner workings of energy and how it affects us physically, mentally, and spiritually in a virtual press conference held last October 19, 2022. She shared her personal anecdotes and inspiration for writing her debut memoir which unusually and wondrously happened while she was at rest and in her dream state. But this experience served as a testament to the existence of our subconscious and unconscious and the relevance they have in influencing the conscious part of our existence.
“We’re all interconnected,” Peiffer said. “Trusting your intuition and allowing yourself to feel the energy of the universe can affect your self-acceptance and healing process. You may not notice it, but energy flows through all of us.”
Science, it seems, backs up the concept of energy and no words verify it more than Albert Einstein’s when he said, “Everything is energy and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want and you cannot help but get that reality.””
Peiffer’s true self-acceptance and healing came from matching the frequency of her inner energy and manifesting it outwardly. And while it’s challenging to identify whether you’ve achieved true self-acceptance and healing, having good relationships with other people is an after-effect of true internal healing.
“When you have healed yourself internally and aligned your energy to vibrate with the universe’s energy, it’s easier to exude a more positive and light energy to people around you. Your relationship with them feels more at ease and right,” Peiffer said.
In her active advocacy for rallying mental health, Peiffer hopes her new memoir can serve as a companion to readers who feel alone in their internal struggles and inspire them to move past experiences and traumas that can squander the bright journey they have ahead towards living a more fulfilled and unquestionably authentic life.
