bexx is a seriously exciting new artist in the UK pop scene. Her eclectic, euphoric alt-pop sound unabashedly draws from influences within 80’s synth-pop, pop-punk, classic rock, plus current artists like Rina Sawayama and Lady Gaga.

Tackling subjects from dating in the LGBTQ+ community, to mental health and her favourite romcoms, bexx’s raw, deeply personal lyrics span the breadth of human emotions. Combining her emotive storytelling with soaring melodies, bold power chords, and iridescent synths, bexx is carving out a space for fans to feel accepted and hopeful, even in their lowest moments.

Her latest single “One More Night” takes inspiration from the 1997 romcom My Best Friend’s Wedding. Through a combination of wanting to write an ode to her favourite movie, as well as cope with her own emotions of facing an impending breakup, bexx shares, “The song is from Julianne’s perspective in My Best Friend’s Wedding, but it’s also from mine. Because even though my relationship wasn’t healthy, I really just wanted one more perfect night with this person before I had to cut them loose.”

Lyrically, bexx references a lot of scenes from the movie, which she belts atop colourful, animated melodies, throbbing synths and layered harmonies, resulting in the ultimate dance worthy anthem.

Accompanying the release is a remix from acclaimed producer and artist Boy Sim. Bringing an extra dose of pizzazz, he shares, “When creating this remix I already had such a good base since it’s already an amazingly well written pop song with catchy hooks and great verse melodies, so what I wanted to do was turn it into a big pop track reminiscent of early 2010s pop hits like Teenage Dream, Call Me Maybe, Tik Tok, and sort of mesh that sound with the newer more experimental, electronic side of pop. It’s a perfect summer bop for drinks by the pool with besties or driving to your fav brunch spot on a sunday afternoon with the windows down.”

The success of debut single “Hard To Love” has catapulted her into the Future Sound of Nottingham 2022 finals, and into tour supports for the likes of Fickle Friends and Deco. She has just been announced as a mainstage performer for Nottingham Pride 2022 (July 30). With support from BBC Introducing and an incredible presence on TikTok where she has garnered over 2.2 million views, bexx is rapidly heading towards an exciting future and it’s one you’ll want to be a part of.
