ePLDT Inc., the ICT arm of PLDT Enterprise, and the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) recently signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) that aims to help organizations enhance their cyber security capabilities through a lecture series titled “Into the Cyberverse.”
Through this strategic collaboration, business organizations are encouraged to participate and learn from these thought-leadership programs which will feature cyber security experts, industry, and academe professionals sharing their insights on cyber threats and risk mitigation.
Present during the MOU signing were PLDT Enterprise FVP and Head of Enterprise Digital Solutions and Business Consulting John Gonzales; VP and Head of ICT Product Management Amil Azurin, and Asst. Vice President and Customer Relationship Management Head for FMCG, Logistics and Education Benedicto Perez.
Meanwhile, AIM was represented by AIM President and Dean Jikyeong Kang, Associate Dean Michelle Antero, and AIM Executive Managing Director of Alumni Relations Office Bernardino Jiao.
Dr. Kang highlighted AIM’s involvement in developing programs that are responsive to the challenges of the rapidly changing business environment as part of their mission to sustain the growth of Asian businesses and societies.
“As an institution that promotes the growth of businesses, AIM has been actively empowering companies through information dissemination drives on specific issues faced by the industry today. We are delighted to kickstart another initiative with ePLDT and we hope to equip many local enterprises so that they can better achieve their visions for their business,” said Dr. Kang.
Likewise, Gonzales noted that the collaboration is relevant to mitigating the risks against cyber security incidents among companies which have increased in the past few years.
“Cyber security is an important facet of every organization which should not be ignored, nor be compromised. Through this collaboration with the Asian Institution of Management, we will be able to educate companies on how they can fortify their cyber security capabilities to help them easily predict, manage, and respond to breaches or any cyberattacks,” said Gonzales.
Moreover, AIM Associate Dean Antero added that as part of their partnership with ePLDT, they are also devising other programs in the pipeline to further cyber security education in the country and produce more cyber aware professionals.
The Asian Institute of Management (AIM) is an Asian pioneer in management education. It was founded in 1968 by a consortium of prominent business leaders, Philippine academic institutions, and the Harvard Business School.
In 2020, PLDT-Smart and AIM also partnered for a Cyber Security Executive Course to help organizations manage security threats. The program was designed for professionals who deal with challenges at the operational level and was participated by companies from all industries.
Amil Azurin, VP and Head of ICT Product Management also noted that as the country’s leading enabler of digital solutions, ePLDT will continuously take part in initiatives to equip companies on how they can enhance their business operations through technology.
The first salvo of the “Into the Cyberverse” lecture series will be on July 7 via Zoom video conference.
