MULTIPLE standing ovations rocked the USA as Gary V staged his Reenergized tour in the first four cities on the West Coast – Pantages in Seattle, Cache Creek in Brooks, CA, Pechanga in Temecula, CA, and the Royce Hall in UCLA.
He sold out two venues and all the shows did not disappoint the fans.
Opening the shows by playing the percussions and strutting through the stages with his legendary energy, Mr. Pure Energy shocked the audiences with his amazing brand of entertainment. He sang hit after hit and only sang one cover, his signature version of Al Jarreau’s “Spain,” which drew his first standing ovation from the crowd.
He performed with the bongos and timbales as a backup musician for his daughter Kiana as she sang her latest release “Heartbeat On Me,” and performed a well-applauded duet of “Sana Maulit Muli.”
Kiana, who just won Best R&B female performer at the PMPC Star Awards For Music this week, opened the show with two of her hit songs before rejoining her father in the middle of the show.
Philippine Dream Academy champion, rock star princess Yeng Constantino was a huge hit as she sang her hit “Ikaw,” and a beautiful version arranged by music director Mon Faustino of her biggest hit, “Hawak Kamay,” which she sang with Valenciano.
One of the favorites was the “Babalik Ka Rin” duet of Gary and Yeng where he played a musical instrument called a Zendrum, which made the fans roar and cheer after the number.
One of Gary’s highlights was when superstar Coco Martin asked if he could surprise Gary for his Los Angeles concert and clueless Gary was speechless when he saw the FPJ’s Ang Probinsyano director-actor walk into his stage to thank him for singing the theme songs of most of his soap operas.
In tears, Coco went personally to Gary in his home in Antipolo when he was recuperating from his kidney cancer nephrectomy surgery. So the LA audience screamed and shouted when Coco walked in.
Other artists who watched his shows were actress-host-chef and newlywed Donita Rose with husband Felson Palad; Tim Pavino; Alaska Aces’ Sean Chambers; Chime TV’s Faith Bautista-Tamashiro; brand influencer Chris Do; singer-songwriter Cecile Azarcon-Inocentes; Pinky de Leon; and Jennifer Cortez to name a few.
Next shows will be Texas Hall in Dallas on October 14, Alaska Center for Performing Arts on October 21 and Town Hall in New York on October 23.
Tour sponsors include Philippine Airlines, Tancinco Law Office, and Belo Medical Group. Tour promoters include Star Media, Manila Genesis, Zion Agency, Music Arts International, Jeepney Production, Relion, Jak ‘N Poy, and JP3 Marketing and Production.
