Acrylic artworks capture nature’s delicate beauty, and bursts of vibrant colors depict euphoric episodes of life. These are the artworks that artist Glenda Carlota has showcased in her 2nd solo art exhibit at the Gateway Gallery.
Titled “Sibol”, Carlota’s art exhibit is an assembly of works in various media created in different states of creative euphoria that celebrates Mother Nature as the harbinger of new life, and as a vehicle for Carlota’s inspiration and budding artistic explorations and the development of her “creative genetic code” after her first solo exhibit “Kulay at Guhit” in 2021.
Working primarily with acrylic, Glenda Carlota’s artworks capture the delicate beauty of nature through the strokes of her brushes, the burst of her hair dryer, or the happy accidents that happen in between.
Glenda Dawn Carlota is a self-taught artist based in Marikina City. The colors of nature rouse her to express herself on the canvas. Carlota’s art journey started in December 2019 when she saw Francesca, her then-12-year-old daughter, who was sketching. She was inspired by what she was doing and it prompted her to try doodling. She did eventually, and she loved the experience and the feelings it engendered. After that, there was no turning back.
Drawing from her humble beginnings, Carlota invites her audience and followers to revel in the beauty of art that sprouted a few years ago from the fertile seeds of creativity.
Glenda Carlota’s “Sibol” solo art exhibit is on view until November 26, at Gateway Gallery on Level 5 of Gateway Mall in Araneta City. Entrance to Gateway Gallery is free of charge, and the catalog to the art exhibit is available upon request from Gateway Gallery.
