Alternative pop band HAUNTER are back with an ethereal remix of their latest single “Paralyze” that rides the edge between EDM and Lo-Fi providing a fresh perspective on the pop track. This is not the first time HAUNTER has worked with Demitri, a talented producer popular on TikTok for his series Pop Punk Goes EDM, you can listen to all their remixes on their Spotify Playlist designed for their fans to “throw some a$$” to. This intense re-imagining of their dark pop single encourages listeners to break free from societal norms:
“With the remix I think I hope it sort of inspires a little more curiosity with listeners. Paralyze’s themes about sex and non-monogamy are still present but I’m hoping this song sort of inspires people to explore themselves more. Ask themselves what intimacy looks like for them and find the courage to make it happen. I hope that it will serve as a springboard to a deeper conversation with themselves and their partners.” – Enoma Asowata of HAUNTER
“I’ve always loved doing the remixes for our songs. I love hearing someone else’s perspective on the song. Dimitri has always done an amazing job putting together remixes for us. I feel like it gives the song a whole new vibe. I’ve always loved hearing different versions of songs rather it be acoustic, a broken down version of a song or with different instruments, it’s just fun to hear things in a different way sometimes.” – Mark Schroeder of HAUNTER
Some former emo kids & one metalhead started a pop band. Enoma Asowata (guitars/synths) had met producer/songwriter Tyler Smyth (Lights, I Prevail, Falling In Reverse) as so many musicians in the pop world of today do – while pursuing DIY projects during the Warped Tour era. The duo clicked musically, and after several months of talks, Enoma sent Tyler some rough demos of songs he had written. The idea behind all this was to do something different, challenging, and brutally honest.
Vocalist/tattoo artist/chef/model Lucy LeNoir was added to the group later in the year, with bassist Mark Schroeder joining soon after, and the addition of Mike Ray (guitar / keys) solidified the group’s musical dynamic. Writing and recording their debut single with Smyth (now a 2X Grammy nominated producer) at his LA studio, the band found that their “sound” stemmed directly from their collective belief that music is akin to love and its ability to connect and heal people through shared experience.
HAUNTER pulls sonically from alt-pop and mainstream luminaries like Chvrches, Ellie Goulding, Taylor Swift, Lights, PVRIS, Imagine Dragons, and CXLOE, while showcasing occasional appreciation for the guitar driven Emo/Pop Rock groups like Jimmy Eat World and The Maine. The group is dedicated to creating substantial, thoughtful, uncompromising Pop Music.
