Production information

  • Director: Sim So-yeon (Here’s My Plan, Welcome 2 Life)
  • Writer: Lee Sun-hye (Reply 1997)
  • Genre: Drama, Romantic
  • Episodes: 16 (every Wednesday and Thursday at 9:50 pm KST/11:00 pm Philippine Standard time)
  • Synopsis: A funeral director who has a special ability that allows her to see and talk to the dead meets an employee at an errand running service “Ildangbaek,” which provides service for pretty much anything clients ask for as low as 100 Korean won. The two butlers, one for the dead and the other for the living, join hands and team up to carry out the wishes of the terrifying, warm-hearted, eccentric, heart-numbing dead people. They figure out that death and life are two sides of a coin, and that the requests of the dead are messages to the living.

Character intros:

    • Kim Jib-sa (Male, 30)

An employee at “Ildangbaek,” an errand running service, and ER resident at Eonju University Hospital

There is a tiger-like fierceness hiding behind Jib-sa’s kind eyes. He is a complicated man, sometimes seeming like a pushover, but becoming tough when necessary. He is the unrivaled employee of “Ildangbaek.”

Kim Jib-sa can get whatever a client wants done regardless of time and location. He is smart and gets tasks done quickly, finishing whatever he begins. He never complains even at the most excruciating jobs. Things change when he meets a girl named Baek Dong-joo through the request of a client.

    • Baek Dong-joo (Female, 25)

Funeral director at Onnuri Funeral Home, Eonju University Hospital

Dong-joo looks like a tender shoot in early spring, but is actually firm and strong. She lost her mother at an early age and was raised by her father. This could have flawed her character, but whether it’s because she was born with a warm personality or she takes after her kind father, she is an innocent girl. She always has to help when she sees someone in need. She also trusts others easily.

She has played table tennis for 15 years but ends up quitting table tennis due to an ankle injury. Having been an adventurer, she now wants to live an ordinary life and becomes a funeral director at a funeral home, an easy job to find. However, she finds out that she has a special ability after becoming a funeral director. She can talk to dead people. When her warm hands touch a deceased person’s face, the person comes back to life for a little while. She keeps her power a secret and is very careful not to let anyone find out, but Jib-sa ends up learning about her secret.
