Young actress-singer Krystal Brimner conveys her generation’s eagerness and thirst for independence in her newly-dropped debut single “Let Me Be Me.”

Best known for her titular role in the musical “Annie” in 2016, 15-year-old Krystal used to be part of the sing and dance trio Just A.S.K., regularly seen on “ASAP Natin ‘To” with fellow members AC Bonifacio and Sheena Belarmino.

Now, Krystal embarks on a recording career with the pop-dance song “Let Me Be Me,” representing Gen Z’s youthfulness, eagerness, and courage to experience life at its fullest and learn from their own mistakes.

Fellow Kapamilya artist Trisha Denise composed “Let Me Be Me” while Star Pop head Rox Santos served as the producer of the song.

Krystal started her showbiz career in the critically-acclaimed movie “Honor Thy Father,” where she won the Best Child Performer award at the Metro Manila Film Festival 2015. She considers Olivia Rodrigo, Sabrina Carpenter, and Ariana Grande her musical inspiration.

The Filipina-Scottish talent is also expected to drop her debut EP, also titled “Let Me Be Me,” later this year.

Krystal’s “Let Me Be Me,” a Star Pop release, is out now on digital streaming platforms.
