Singer-songwriter Adie and Janine Berdin collaborate for a new track, Mahika, released on Wednesday, May 11, and produced under Adie’s home label, O/C Records.
Mahika talks about the experience of coming across someone that would spell out unforeseen butterflies during the encounter — an experience that goes beyond one’s interest but develops into a magical one.
“Mahika is a feeling that someone could experience beyond your interest, like receiving unforeseen and unpredictable butterflies.”
The song is primarily ignited by a narrative that revolves around how people feel butterflies upon meeting someone who appears to bring out some breathtaking fire.
“Inspired by the feeling people have when they get butterflies the first time you encounter something that seems so magical.”
Arranged and produced by Franz Sacro and Adie, Mahika features an alternative folk and pop record that accentuates a jolly yet romantic vibe. Other creatives behind its production include Franceso Onandia, Franco Recasata, and Hazel Pascua, who mixed and mastered the track.
Mahika comes as Adie’s next release after launching his hit tracks, Tahanan and You’ll Be Safe Here. The former has garnered over 32M streams on digital music platforms, and the latter has accumulated great success for bringing color to the official soundtrack of Vivamax’s movie, 366. On the other hand, Mahika acts as Berdin’s next track after releasing Pagod Na Ako in November of 2021, produced by singer-actor Juan Karlos Labajo.
Adie and Berdin share that this newest track deems to be a “very unusual OPM love song.”
Mahika is now available for streaming on all digital music platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube.
