MIMS Philippines, the leading source of medical information and education for healthcare professionals, held its first-ever MIMS Excellence Awards as part of the company’s celebration of its 50th anniversary. The awards were held to recognize the most innovative and effective projects, events, and products in Philippine healthcare and pharmaceuticals.
MIMS and its collaborators showed up in their finest fashion to see who would take home the night’s biggest awards. The awards touched on different healthcare and pharmaceutical industry aspects, recognizing excellence in pharmaceutical marketing, and the most impactful health advocacies and innovations.
A first for the company, the MIMS Excellence Awards welcomed guests with glamorous photobooths, captivating performances, and sumptuous food. They also enjoyed exhibits about MIMS history, showcasing some of the earliest editions of the MIMS drug listings.
“We have endured a global pandemic together,” said Mr. Richard M. Rivera, President of MIMS Philippines, during the ceremonial toast to open the festivities. “Imagine how much more we can do and accomplish if we can further strengthen this partnership.”
A range of awards was given to some of the country’s pharmaceutical giants and major local healthcare societies. These included awards for brand management, product management, and medical marketing, as well as awards recognizing excellence in individual campaigns. The Spotlight Awards were given to companies that made the most use of MIMS platforms for their projects. The awards also highlighted some of the best projects revolving around health advocacy, scientific communication, and health innovation, and celebrated companies and societies with the most enduring partnerships with MIMS. Some of MIMS’ most important advertisers and companies with the most products listed on MIMS were recognized as well.
Major pharmaceutical companies like Pfizer, Sandoz, Cathay Drug Company and Cathay YSS Distributors Company, as well as fast-moving consumer goods companies like Procter & Gamble and Reckitt Benckiser, took home some of the night’s top awards for the excellence of their campaigns, and their high levels of integration with MIMS platforms.
The success of the event showed how important it can be to reward excellent work in the industry, and MIMS hopes that this will be the first of what promises to be a long-standing and valued tradition.
However, these awards were more than a way to recognize excellence; they were also a way for MIMS Philippines to celebrate its partners in healthcare, without whom the company would never have become one of the most important sources of information for healthcare practitioners in the country.
“Your passion – which has been tested throughout the course of the pandemic – has been a huge help for us to unite and work our way towards a singular goal: the improvement of healthcare for all,” said Mr. Rivera.
“We have had our diverse ways of achieving this together – whether through webinars, conferences, or any other means – but the message stays the same: that we are working for the betterment of the Filipinos and its healthcare community,” he added.
Indeed, MIMS Philippines has forged valued partnerships with some of the most impactful medical societies and pharmaceutical companies in the country and across the globe. For over 50 years, MIMS Philippines has helped develop effective and engaging communications for doctors and patients with its medical communications offerings; given products and projects the reach they deserve with its marketing platforms, including MIMS.com, and its medical education platform, MEDU; and its comprehensive listing platform that has been an essential resource for healthcare practitioners for decades. MIMS Philippines hopes that this new tradition will highlight its commitment to serving its partners and the country with excellence and honor in the healthcare industry for decades to come.
