With Boracay Island now ready for business after the long wait due to the pandemic, comes the opportunity to host more meetings, incentives, conventions, conferences, and events on a massive scale. Along with this is the challenge of making sure locals, workers and guests stay responsible for keeping the island clean.

In active partnership with the Department of Tourism Region 6, the Local Government of Malay, and the Boracay MICE Alliance launches the High 5 Boracay Song Writing Contest. The project promotes a daily 5:00 PM habit of cleaning up the shores of Boracay while an official jingle is played.

Cleofe Albiso, Chairman of Boracay MICE Alliance and Managing Director of Megaworld Hotels and Resorts believes that “In Bayanihan Spirit, we can gradually recover whatever we have lost in the past few years and declare that we are for sustainable tourism here in the island”. Likewise, Ma. Victoria Aguirre-Salem, Sangguniang Bayan of Malay is certain that “this initiative will help Boracay get its spring on its step back as we all promote tourism again”.

After encouraging composers from across the country to submit their compositions last August 2022, now Boracay MICE Alliance asks the public to vote for their choice out of the 5 finalists posted on the organization’s Facebook page. The composer of the winning entry will not just take home the coveted cash prize but will also be recognized as the creator as the winning jingle airs over radio stations and other platforms for the purpose of its intended use.

Take part and VOTE NOW!

Visit Boracay MICE Alliance’s Facebook fan page to locate the voting link pinned at the top of the page. Voters may also visit https://bit.ly/3fTJcvO to listen to all entries and start voting for their favorite entry until December 31, 2022. Top finalists include Boracay by Rhode Ryan Velez, High 5 Boracay by Jamie Roy, Isla Boracay by Daenniel Fernandez, Boracay Boracay Boracay by Archie Dairocas, Clean Haven by Simon by Moses Almira.

Regional Director Cristine Mansinares of the Department of Tourism 6 “hopes the project to gain more support to maintain the project and for everyone to be part of our goal to making Boracay better than ever.”
