Leading life insurer Pru Life UK was named the Silver Stevie® awardee in two categories – Communications or PR Campaign of the Year for Corporate Responsibility, and Achievement in Thought Leadership – in the 19th Annual International Business Awards® (IBA). Awardees were honored during a gala banquet at the InterContinental London Park Lane Hotel, on 15 October in London, UK. It was the first live IBA awards ceremony since 2019.
Pru Life UK was recognized for two of its Environmental, Social, and Governance (ESG) initiatives, the Cha-Ching financial literacy program for children and for initiating a discourse on the impact of climate change on health and financial security through its independently commissioned study, titled “How will climate change affect the health of Filipinos in the next decade.”
Cha-Ching is an award-winning program developed by the Prudence Foundation and implemented by Pru Life UK in the Philippines, which aims to educate Filipino youth on the core money management concepts of Earn, Save, Spend and Donate. As the Cha-Ching programme celebrates 10 years of the outreach effort, the program has already reached over 870,000 children via the Cha-Ching curriculum to promote financial literacy.
“We are delighted to receive this recognition for Cha-Ching, our children’s financial education program. By providing children with these crucial life skills, knowledge, and values around money and money management, they can navigate a more financially secure and successful future. We are so pleased to be driving this agenda in the Philippines and globally, and look forward to expanding our impact to reach as many more children as possible,” said Prudence Foundation Executive Director Marc Fancy.
Another initiative focusing on financial security is the 2021 pioneering study that explores the potential health impact and financial risks of climate change. The acclaimed study underscores the role of insurance companies in protecting Filipinos, especially the underserved and unserved communities.
“We are honored to be recognized by The International Business Awards for our work in raising awareness on the impact of climate change on financial security, as well as in bringing financial literacy and protection to life amid these trying times. Together with our partners, we are committed to helping more Filipinos achieve financial security and make financial education more accessible, helping more Filipino families get the most out of life,” Pru Life UK Chief Legal & Government Relations Officer Atty. Em Vallente said.
The International Business Awards are the world’s premier business awards program.
