After a gruelling year of regional and international tournaments in the VALORANT Champions Tour (“VCT”), 16 of the strongest pro teams in the world are gearing up for the VALORANT Champions 2022, the year-end finale of the VCT, where only one team will be crowned the VALORANT World Champion.
The Asia Pacific (“APAC”) region will be sending three representatives to fight for a chance to make history on the global stage. Following their historic run as the first APAC team to reach the Masters grand final, Paper Rex will hope to impress once more at the upcoming Champions 2022. They will be joined by XERXIA, who had to overcome great odds to be able to represent the region on the world stage. Boom Esports is the final APAC representative who proved themselves worthy for the final slot in the APAC LCQ.
“It’s been such a huge year in VALORANT for our region. This year we saw our teams progress further than ever before on the international stage. Our APAC teams wowed audiences with their aggressive and unorthodox plays and made the world sit up and take notice. APAC teams have proven that they should not be underestimated and we are looking forward to seeing them perform at Champions. I hope our fans will join us in cheering these teams on!” said Mark Chui, Marketing Lead, Esports of Riot Games in APAC.
With all three APAC representatives now confirmed, Riot has organised a suite of social content and activities for fans to enjoy on the Road to Champions from late August and early September.
APAC Rising Music Video: To celebrate our APAC representatives, Riot has collaborated with Dharni, a Singaporean beatboxer, to produce an APAC Rising music anthem. The track will be dropping soon on VALORANT’s social channels.
Commissioned Pro-Team Murals: To pay tribute to the skill and passion of APAC teams, Riot Games will be working with leading artists in Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia to immortalise their stories in a series of exclusive murals that fans can visit in person! Riot will be working with Sam Lo in Singapore, piyasak khiaosa-ard in Thailand, and ongkogx in Indonesia.

Discover what it means for these players to be representing the entire region on the global stage.
IRL Paintball Competition: We invited XERXIA for a scrim to prepare them for their journey to VALORANT Champions 2022. Not an ordinary scrim however, as XERXIA will take on a group of all-star influencers in a 5v5 IRL Paintball Competition mimicking all aspects of what is to be expected of during champions whether from Shoutcasters, Coaches, and even tactics.
Finally, VALORANT Champions 2022 will take place from 31 August – 18 September in Istanbul, Turkey.
