It’s time to venture out on your journey as a youth leader because the next big Summit is sailing your way! Youth Leadership for Democracy (YouthLed) officially launched Youth Leaders’ Summit 2022: “Layag: Setting Sail as a Young Leader”, a two-day conference happening on October 8-9, 2022 where young leaders can learn about what it means to venture into more impactful engagements with the youth and other sectors. This year’s theme, Layag, asserts that the youths are the waves that make movement sail and the wind that brings change.
#Layag2022 will feature youth speakers and experts from various sectors such as the government and private sector. The Youth Leaders’ Summit 2022 will also serve as a space for young leaders to learn from the delegates coming from other regions of the Philippines. The two-day event will feature discussions on the Role of the Youth as Future Changemakers, Youth-led Movements in Philippine History (Luzon, Visayas, Mindanao), Strengthening Youth Participation in Democratic Governance, and more.
Aspiring audiences can sign up to attend the in-person Summit at bit.ly/LAYAG2022 while attendees who would like to watch the online stream can tune in to the YouthLed PH Facebook page on October 8 to 9.
YouthLed first launched the annual Youth Leaders’ Summit initiative in 2021, namely “ALAB: SPARK FOR THE NATION”. Following the success of the ALAB, held online in 2021, The Asia Foundation and USAID together with their partners are bringing youth leaders together in person for the second Summit.
YouthLed National Youth Leaders’ Summit 2022: “Layag: Setting Sail as a Young Leader” aims to develop the National Youth Agenda developed in the first year into actionable local solutions, showcase effective strategies and best practices of successful youth-led movements, and strengthen alliances among youth networks all over the country to create a more enabling environment for the National Youth Agenda.
#Layag2022 is the Second Summit of the Youth Leaders’ Summit initiative of Youth Leadership for Democracy, a project of the USAID and The Asia Foundation. The Youth Leaders’ Summit is powered by Active Vista.
