Aboitiz Data Innovation (ADI) announces that its Chief Executive Officer and Union Bank of the Philippines (UnionBank)’s Chief Data and AI Officer, Dr. David R. Hardoon, has been named CDOTrends Reader’s Choice Awards: 2022 ASEAN Edition’s Chief Data Officer of the Year.
As digital enablement and data transformation reach new levels of maturity across Asia Pacific, the CDOTrends Reader’s Choice Awards aims to recognize leading solutions and executives that have played a determining role in driving digital transformation and data initiatives across their organizations.
The Chief Data Officer of the Year award recognizes Dr. Hardoon’s exceptional leadership and contribution to ADI’s mission of leveraging data and operationalizing Data Science and AI (DSAI) to help businesses understand the value of data-driven innovation in solving complex business problems and unlocking new opportunities.
As ADI’s CEO and UnionBank’s CDAO, Dr. Hardoon has successfully led the bank and the Aboitiz techglomerate in promoting a data-first culture across the organization. Under his leadership, ADI has made significant strides in operationalizing DSAI to drive high-impact innovations and business growth, adding value to the business units of the Group. Dr. Hardoon and his team have been instrumental in developing tried and tested DSAI frameworks and solutions to drive operational efficiency and cost savings, strengthen risk management, optimize revenue, and champion sustainability across Aboitiz’s business units such as UnionBank, Aboitiz Power Corporation, and Republic Cement, among others.
