AirAsia Philippines is boosting its operations by hiring more pilots, cabin, ground, and technical crew to support the steady growth in flight bookings in line with the upcoming summer season, signifying the airline’s path to recovery.
Last year, AirAsia Philippines hired 600 new flight and ground crew amid headwinds. For the first two months of 2023, the airline has already processed an initial 260 new hires and is continuously boosting its headcount to meet growing demands.
In 2022, the World’s Best Low-Cost Airline flew a total of 500,000 guests from its hubs in the Philippines. This figure has already tripled as of 28 February as forward bookings until December 2023 continue to increase especially for popular local destinations such as Bohol, Boracay, and Puerto Princesa, meanwhile Bangkok, Osaka, Tokyo, and Incheon as out-of-the-country getaways.
AirAsia Philippines Communications and Public Affairs Head Steve Dailisan shares, “With the resumption of our Asean destinations and flight frequency expansion, which greatly contributes to our overall load factor, Airasia Philippines is continuously expanding our roster of flight and on ground crew to accommodate the projected travel demand growth among Filipino travelers this 2023 More than that, we want to offer an opportunity for aspiring Allstars to fulfill their dreams with us.”
To delight more guests to book their flights early, AirAsia Philippines is kicking off the month of March with the 3.3 Travel Fest which offers a one-way base fare for as low as PHP33 to local destinations such as Bacolod, Cagayan De Oro, Tacloban, Cebu, and Davao. Guests can also enjoy one-way base fares to Hong Kong, Macao, Taipei, Kaohsiung, Guangzhou, and Shenzhen for as low as PHP1,033. 3.3 Travel Fest is available for booking until 5 March for travels until 30 September 2023.
The World’s Best Low-Cost Airline is also mounting its biggest travel fest at the BGC High Street Central this weekend with the AirAsia Fly Fest. The event will also showcase ticketing, and visa processing booths, which are all aimed at providing hassle-free travel.

To seamlessly facilitate check-in, security, and immigration procedures, guests on international flights are also advised to be at the NAIA Terminal 3 at least four hours before their scheduled flight. AirAsia is also inviting guests to make it a habit to do their self-check-in via the airasia Super App, or via the AirAsia kiosks at the airport.
