Kapamilya stars Chie Filomeno, Anji Salvacion, and Jake Ejercito have chosen to continue their journey and grow in the entertainment industry with ABS-CBN as they renewed their contracts during the “Keep Shining Kapamilya” signing event.
The three Star Magic artists individually took moments to express their heartfelt thanks to ABS-CBN for being instrumental in helping them rise to prominence in the industry.
“The feeling is overwhelming like no words can describe what I’m feeling right now. The journey I had was indeed a rollercoaster ride, and I wouldn’t trade it for anything else,” Chie exclaimed as she relished this highlight of her career.
Chie said ABS-CBN has served as a second home for most of her life. Today, she is known to many as a fierce calendar vixen, a vivacious dancer, and a versatile actress known for her roles in “Got to Believe,” “Love in 40 Days,” “Beach Bros,” and soon in the upcoming film “A Very Good Girl” starring alongside Kathryn Bernardo and Dolly de Leon.
Meanwhile, Anji reminisced about her humble beginnings in the industry and how ABS-CBN opened the doors for a humble island girl to reach her dreams as an artist.
“It’s tears of gratefulness kasi looking back where I started, I was very glad to every people that I’ve worked with. Thank you so much for the opportunity to showcase me, not just my talent but myself as a person,” she shared.
Anji’s Kapamilya journey went full circle, from her stint in “Idol Philippines” to becoming the Big Winner in “Pinoy Big Brother: Kumunity Season 10” as the Singing Sweetheart of Siargao. Now, she continues pursuing her passion for music, recently releasing her single “Paraiso,” and is currently taking her talents to acting and hosting.
Also reaffirming his commitment to ABS-CBN is one of today’s hottest leading men, Jake Ejercito, who seeks to continue the legacy his parents carved in Philippine showbiz. Despite his lineage, the Kapamilya heartthrob admitted grappling with the decision to follow his dream of becoming an actor.
“I’ve always been reluctant sa pagpasok sa industriya. But at the back of my head, gusto ko talagang i-pursue din ‘yung acting. So kung ano ‘yung nag-trigger to me during that time, parang nag-decide ako na ako naman. Susundin ko kung anong gusto ko, na I want to give it a shot kung para sa akin ba talaga ito,” Jake said.
His pursuit of becoming an actor paid off, notably known for his roles in “Marry Me, Marry You,” Amazon Prime’s digital series “Fit Check: Confessions of an Ukay Queen,” and in the award-winning teleserye “The Broken Marriage Vow.” Jake will also star in “A Very Good Girl” and the upcoming serye “Linlang.”
Present at the contract signing event were ABS-CBN chairman Mark Lopez, ABS-CBN president and CEO Carlo Katigbak, ABS-CBN COO of broadcast Cory Vidanes, ABS-CBN head of TV production and Star Magic head Laurenti Dyogi, and their respective Star Magic handlers Gidget dela Cuesta, Portia Morales, and Cris Tapang.
