Earlier this month, the local government of Misamis Occidental declared a state of calamity in their province due to the torrent rains and massive floods that devastated the whole province. Express delivery service giant, J&T Express Philippines, organized a relief operation to provide aid to families that were affected by the inclement weather.
“It’s heartbreaking to see that many families had to suffer from the strong rains that hit Misamis Occidental recently. As we live up to the ‘express’ in our company name, we never hesitated to give assistance to families who are in dire need of food and water, especially during these times with utmost accuracy.” says Zoe Chi, Vice President of J&T Express Philippines.
More than 900 families benefitted from this relief effort, wherein the goods were distributed in over three barangays: Taboc Norte, Taboc Sur, and Talic in Oroquieta City, Misamis Occidental. The J&T Express team in Cagayan de Oro gave food assistance and some basic essentials that will help suffice each family’s needs. The team was also joined by the local barangay officials in distributing aid to the displaced families.
“We at J&T Express [Philippines] are beyond dedicated to providing last-mile delivery services to the Filipinos, at the same time, have the Bayanihan spirit felt by our kababayans through our neighboring regions. We will always be there for them.” Chi added.
A proud Bayanihan advocate, J&T Express Philippines is no stranger when it comes to extending help to marginalized communities. The company has been closely coordinating with partner brands and local government units (LGUs) in sending out in-kind donations even to far-flung areas around the country.
