Rising balladeer James Reyes reminds listeners of the strength and hope found in the name of Jesus with his newest inspirational single, Sa’Yong Pangalan—out now on all digital streaming platforms worldwide!
Penned by the talented singer-songwriter Kikx Salazar and produced by Reverb Worship PH, Sa’Yong Pangalan encourages listeners to remain steadfast in their faith, even in the face of adversity. It serves as an anthem to draw closer to God—finding solace and victory by fully relying on His power.
“Reflecting on my own life, so many things happened, I had ups and downs. This song is a reminder for me to still thank God and pour out my feelings to Him, for He wants a relationship with us. We only need to come near to Him,” says James.
With a musical journey that spans from worship leading and commercial jingles, to vocal coaching and collaborating with renowned artists like Moira dela Torre, this new track is a testament to his versatility and dedication to his craft. James adds, “There is hope in every situation, in every circumstance in life. If you feel that no one hears you, nor understands you, the Lord is with you. Continue to talk to Him.”
Kikx echoes his sentiments and shares a defining moment in his career that birthed the song, “When I wrote Sa‘Yong Pangalan 10 years ago, that time I was really scared. I was asking God if I was making the right decision of leaving my band to become a full-time songwriter and music producer—one of those dark times when I was not sure where to go. With God’s blessing, I think I made the right decision. I allowed His plan to unfold, and I am thankful He did not leave me during those times—that’s basically how Sa‘Yong Pangalan was written.”
Dubbing the song “a prayer and a cry for help,” the songwriter invites listeners to dive into the compelling lyrics and heartfelt melody of Sa’Yong Pangalan, “If they’re going through tough times and they feel lost, hopefully, this song can bring light and hope. I encourage everyone to just call on God’s name.”
Meanwhile, CBN Asia’s Executive Vice President and Chief Operating Officer John Valdes Tan hopes that Reverb Worship’s newest release would inspire many to rely on God’s strength when they feel exhausted, powerless, defeated, or alone.
“This song reminds us that God is our shield. He never slumbers nor sleeps. All we need to do is to hold on to His name and trust Him. His name brings us hope and freedom, that’s why we pray “In His name”. May this song bring hope and joy to all who listen and hold on to His name.”
