The Xavier School Alumni Association and Art Department invite everyone to attend and visit the Xavier Art Fest 2023, happening from January 27 to 29, 2023.
With the theme ‘Stronger Together: The Art of Possibilities,’ this year’s festival will feature artworks submitted through a month-long contest launched in December.
The competition was open to the school’s students, faculty, staff, and alumni from the Xavier School San Juan and Nuvali communities.
All submitted artworks will be exhibited and sold to raise funds for the Fr. Zuloaga Faculty Emergency Medical Fund, Para Kay ‘Cher Fund, Xavier Educational Trust, and other causes.
Now in its 6th year, the Xavier Art Fest is a long-running annual competition meant to promote art appreciation and creativity, while advocating the social good projects of Xavier communities’ partner beneficiaries. It culminates in the three-day fest that will be open to the public.
This year’s edition is made even bigger with the introduction of the digital category that enabled submissions of innovative artworks such as non-fungible tokens (NFTs) or digital collectibles.
NFTs are unique digital assets on a blockchain. They can be representations of artworks, gaming items, or documents that exist distinctly by themselves and cannot be replicated, giving them unique values that are determined by many factors such as desirability or collectability.
Another highlight of the Xavier Art Fest 2023 is the participation of the Philippine Digital Asset Exchange (PDAX), which will preview a collection of NFTs set to be released and made available for purchase on its mobile app this February.
PDAX will also have a booth at the festival, where visitors can learn more about NFTs and how they can add value to one’s lifestyle.
