Up-and-coming queer artist Kio Priest has launched a new single “Cool With U,” his first release under ABS-CBN’s Star Pop label.
Kio’s self-composed pop track tells the story of finding someone who would offer their love despite the insecurities and flaws of oneself.
“It’s a song about finding people who make you feel safe. May you have less noise in your head and it’s okay to depend on someone or a few extra peeps,” he said.
“Cool With U” also serves as a taste of his upcoming EP which will contain several of his original compositions.
“Can’t wait to take on a brand new journey and have a mini body of work to let you all experience. I’ve been working so hard recently and trying to come up with songs that you will like while honing my songwriting skills,” Kio shared.
As one of the fresh faces of queer music, Kio has released several singles including “Die First,” “Sugar Baby,” and “Just A Lie.” He also went viral for his cover of Nadine Lustre‘s single “Paligoy-ligoy” which earned over 120,000 streams. Meanwhile, his latest single “Cool With U” was featured on Spotify’s New Music Friday Philippines, Thailand, Malaysia, Indonesia, and Singapore.
