Laguna-born and bred singer and producer KYLIX is now more focused than ever in making his own mark in the music scene. With years of experience in music production and songwriting, he already tried exploring different music genres and even once became part of a rock band.

Aside from that, KYLIX is one half of the hip-hop group L.A. GOON$, notable in their collaboration with ALLMO$T for the popular hip-hop song “Miracle Nights”

This year, KYLIX found a new home and became one of the freshest solo artists of Universal Records Philippines. And this June, he dropped his first single called “Liham Sa Ulap” under the record label. He wrote the said track in December 2022 and produced it along with Senoidy.

The song conveys the message of pursuing one’s dreams and aspirations while maintaining a positive outlook that they will eventually be recognized by the universe. The song suggests that by consistently sending letters to the sky, one can hope that someday their dreams will be heard and their aspirations will be fulfilled. And once it’s finally reachable, you’ll never let that dream of a lifetime go.

KYLIX says, “Sinulat ko siya last December 2022 kasi gusto ko pagdating ng 2023, parang gusto ko i-push ‘yung sarili ko. I’ll give myself one last hurrah na pwedeng eto na ‘yun or hindi, basta gagawin ko na lahat for my music.”

He was about to release the song independently earlier this year but then the sweet opportunity to be a UR artist came.

“So ang pinaka ibig sabihin talaga niya kaya Liham Sa Ulap, parang letters to the sky. I’m just throwing everything to the sky and sana may makarinig, may maka appreciate, may makagusto, may kumuha rin sa akin. And eventually UR came,” the artist reveals in a statement.

And sobrang timing niya kasi ganun ‘yung message ng song tapos biglang dumating ‘yung UR. Kaya tinanggap ko talaga siya as a sign na ito na ‘yun. May narating ‘yung mga liham ko sa ulap.”

KYLIX happily expressed his excitement and happiness as he signed the deal with the label. “Grinab ko na siya agad talaga. Because narealize ko for so long, time flies so fast. Pag ‘di ko nagrab ito, ‘di ko alam kung kailan ‘yung next na ganito kalaking opportunity,” he shares.

He dropped an original track called “No Feelings” back in 2020 which also features JAGA, as well as “Eros”, a collaboration with fellow artists krisostomo and GoonBogart. He’s notable in his unique vocal prowess and smooth yet eccentric alternative hip-hop or/and R&B singing style.

KYLIX was chosen as the cover of Spotify’s Fresh Finds Playlist as soon as “Liham Sa Ulap” came out. Likewise, the song is now included in the latest Tatak Pinoy and Sappy andSenti Playlists as well.

An official music video for “Liham Sa Ulap” is also set to be released soon which stars beauty queen, model, and recording artist Clare Inso and KYLIX himself.
