Mentorque Productions makes history through its film and Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) 2023 entry, MALLARI, as the first Filipino movie distributed by Warner Brothers Pictures. To kick off its month-long journey towards the December 25 MMFF 2023 release, Mentorque in cooperation with Cleverminds Incorporated, it will hold the biggest and grandest media and fan conference-in-one on Friday, December 1 at at The Music Hall of SM Mall of Asia, Pasay City.

Mallari stars the Philippines’ ultimate heartthrob Piolo Pascual as Fr. Juan Severino Mallari, the first Filipino priest executed by the Spanish colonial government.

The mediacon will be at Cinema 5. To join the momentous event, registration is at 2 pm. Refreshments for registered guests will be served at 3 pm onwards, in the mall’s activity center during the fan conference. The media will have special access to cover the ongoing activities, which will feature a show, games, interactive booths, the Mallari Gallery, and there will be giveaways, too.

There’ll be an expected audience of 2,000, which is composed of artists’ fans, movie fans, vloggers, and social media influencers. This event is open to the public.

Attending the December 1 event are John Bryan Diamante, the president of Mentorque Productions, the main cast-Piolo Pascual, Janella Salvador, JC Santos, Gloria Diaz, Ron Angeles, Tommy Alejandrino, and many more.

Mallari is a partly fictional, partly true-to-life account inspired by the true story of Fr. Mallari, a parish priest in the 1800s who killed 57 people before being caught, thereby becoming the first and only recorded Filipino serial killer ever, antedating Jack The Ripper by more than 60 years.

The film takes pride in its high-quality production and high caliber team, which earned the nod of Warner Bros. and promises to be the scariest movie this Christmas season during the MMFF 2023 run in cinemas nationwide. The development of its concept started in 2018 and had its green light by Mentorque in 2022.

Directed by Derick Cabrido, he shot the film in various historic locations in the Philippines, including a village built for the project to recreate an authentic setting.

Also, it boasts of three timelines–combining the audiences’ love for retro horror with the immediate relatability of current terrors.

Recently, the Philippine-based leading production house specializes in events management, marketing, advertising, and now focused on content creation-has formally signed a partnership with the American film production and distribution company on November 25.
