Renowned Dubai-based Filipino fashion designer, Michael Cinco enthralled attendees of The Philippine Legacy Gala 2023 as he recently presented his exquisite Spanish-inspired creations named “The Impalpable Dream of España” at the Marriott Grand Ballroom, Manila.
The highly anticipated fashion charity gala embraced the culture of Spain, showcasing a fusion of art, history and architecture. From the breathtaking Roman Catholicism of La Sagrada de Familia in Barcelona, to the iconic masterpieces of Spanish-native artists like Pablo Picasso and Salvador Dalí, and the captivating Spanish matadors and flamenco dancers, Cinco’s collection captured the essence of Spain in every stitch.
Cinco’s latest creations, consisting of 50 haute couture looks, were an exquisite blend of art and culture which were inspired from his travels and the beauty of various countries. The gala also marked the launch of his new perfume series and jewelry line, offering a complete lifestyle brand experience.
As the only Filipino designer who has achieved international acclaim, Michael Cinco has dressed A-list Hollywood celebrities including Beyoncé, Jennifer Lopez, Britney Spears, Lady Gaga, Mariah Carey, Mila Kunis, Rihanna, and Naomi Campbell. His talent has been recognized with various prestigious awards, including the Presidential Award for Outstanding Filipinos Overseas, the People of the Year Award, and the Designer of the Year at the EMI Gala Awards Night in Dubai.
He added another accolade under his belt as The Philippine Legacy Gala 2023 awarded him the Legacy Award of Excellence in Global Fashion. Aside from Cinco, the gala night also awarded fellow luminaries who have made their marks in their respective fields. Among them were Sharon Cuneta who took home the Legacy Award of Excellence in Music, Coco Martin for Legacy Award of Excellence in Television Entertainment, Ruffa Gutierrez for Legacy Award for Outstanding Achievement in Entertainment Industry, Hon. Juan Ponce Enrile who was given the Legacy Award with the Highest Distinction, Mayor Josemarie L. Diaz with the Legacy Award of Excellence in City Governance, Mayor Sheilah Lacuna-Pangan with the Legacy Award of Excellence in City Legislation and Governance, Congresswoman Shernee Tan-Tambut with Legacy Award of Excellence in Cultural Heritage Protection, Shirley Halili-Cruz who took home the Legacy Award of Excellence in Dance, Ann Ong with the Legacy Award of Excellence in Handcrafted Jewelry, Myrna Tang-Yao with the Legacy Award of Excellence in Women Empowerment, Margarita “Tingting” Delos Reyes Cojuangco who was given the Legacy Award of Excellence in Philanthropic Missions, and June Cheryl “Chaye” Cabal-Revilla with the Legacy Award of Excellence in Corporate Finance Management.
Like his fellow awardess, Cinco remains committed to making a difference. Proceeds from “The Philippine Legacy Gala 2023 – Michael Cinco: The Impalpable Dream of España” also benefited The Philippine Missionari Della Fondazione di Carita, Inc. and the Gusi Peace Prize Foundation.
