Thousands of Marvel fans across the country were hyped to witness the return of the most powerful Avenger in the Marvel Cinematic Universe with Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels,” now showing in cinemas nationwide.
To mark the film’s Philippine release, super-powered block screenings were held across different cities in Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. These screenings show the huge number of Filipino fans eagerly anticipating the sequel to 2019’s superheroine phenomenon “Captain Marvel”.
After defeating the Krees and saving the universe against Thanos with the Avengers, Carol Danvers, also known as Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), is now tasked to protect the galaxy. After a mission against Kree rebels goes wrong, her powers become entangled with super-fan Kamala Khan aka Ms. Marvel (Iman Vellani), and her estranged niece, S.A.B.E.R. astronaut Captain Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris). Together they have to learn how to use their powers to stop another universal threat.
Marvel Studios’ “The Marvels” stars Brie Larson, Teyonah Parris, Iman Vellani, Zawe Ashton, Gary Lewis, Seo-Jun Park, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, and Samuel L. Jackson. The film is directed by Nia DaCosta, and produced by Kevin Feige. Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso, Mary Livanos, Jonathan Schwartz and Matthew Jenkins serve as executive producers. The screenplay is written by Nia DaCosta, Megan McDonnell and Elissa Karasik.
