Recognizing the importance of upskilling and reskilling in the overall productivity and career development of its employees, P.A Alvarez Properties and Development Corporation (P.A Properties) collaborated with the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) to equip its staff with National Certificates (NC) aligned with their respective competencies.
Through TESDA’s Unified TVET Program Registration and Accreditation System (UTPRAS), 279 employees have earned their NC IIs and NC IIIs in the fields of masonry, carpentry, tile setting, construction painting, electrical installation and maintenance, plumbing, computer systems servicing, technical drafting, and visual graphic design since the partnership commenced in 2020. Employees were enrolled at Schola Angelicus, Inc, a TESDA-partner institution in Cabuyao, Laguna.
“In order for us to continue building homes for Filipino communities, we need skilled workers who can be a part of our growing community,” says Atty. Marianne Reyna Lina-Cruz, President and CEO of P.A. Properties. “Through the TESDA program, community members of Cabuyao and nearby cities will have the chance to uplift their livelihood, uplift the industry, and transform their own lives through the quality technical-vocational education the program provides.”
P.A. Properties, as an industry partner, likewise offer employment opportunities to other TESDA trainees.
Lina-Cruz noted that this initiative drives inclusive development that will ultimately benefit workers, communities, and the real estate industry.
“We share our desire to improve our community by providing opportunities for the Filipinos to empower themselves and realize their dreams. Being a competitive real estate company, we can hone the skills of the community of Cabuyao and nearby cities through the TESDA courses and open the doors for possible job opportunities in our company,” she said.
P.A. Properties’ affiliation with TESDA provides educational opportunities to the communities in Cabuyao and its neighboring cities who are interested in professional development and training.
According to Lina-Cruz, the company is keen to expand and sustain this partnership to boost education and employment.
“Our vision entails that we only provide excellent products and services to our customers. What contributes to the realization of that vision is employing highly-skilled workers. There’s a shared desire to improve our community by providing opportunities for the Filipinos to empower themselves and realize their dreams,” she added.
