Last March 25, Red Bull held the National Finals of this year’s Red Bull Doodle Art competition at the Clubhouse in Uptown, Taguig, and the country has crowned a new champion. Following hundreds of artwork submissions among the most talented up-and-coming artists in the country, Sheena Jacobo came out on top against Lexi Margaux Cruz (2nd Placer) and Alex Rafael (3rd Placer) to cement herself as the 2023 Red Bull Doodle Art winner.
Sheena Jacobo, a student currently taking up her Masters Degree of Arts in Education majoring in English at Naga College Foundation, Inc., stood out from the rest and got the judges’ approval with her remarkable creativity and technical application of her doodle artwork. Jacobo based her winning work on the concept of unity among all life forms.
“My doodle is based on the concept of a new world in which humans, aliens, robots, and any living and non-living beings in any form can coexist. This doodle was inspired primarily by the movies I enjoyed watching.” Shared Jacobo.
Renowned local artists and National Finals judges Kookoo Ramos, Mong Barcelon, and Julienne Dadivas, had the final say in choosing the country’s representative for the World Finals. Each judge based their vote on which artist had the best execution of creativity, artistic skill, and loving-life angle.
Following Sheena’s impressive showing at the National Finals, she will now represent the Philippines at the Red Bull Doodle Art World Finals in Amsterdam alongside fellow finalists from over 60 participating countries worldwide.
Jacobo will have the opportunity to work with an international artist to come up with the best NFT collectible artwork to secure the title of Red Bull Doodle Art World Champion.
The World Finals is set to go down on May 25th, and interested fellow art enthusiasts can keep up with Sheena’s Red Bull Doodle Art journey by following Red Bull Philippines’ official social media pages.
