GRAMMY-nominated American electronic music duo and producers SLANDER (Derek Andersen and Scott Land) independently have released their new single “Wish I Could Forget” featuring multi-platinum-selling singer, songwriter, and producer blackbear and GRAMMY-nominated, multi-platinum-selling quintet Bring Me The Horizon. The collaboration – first teased live by SLANDER last summer to over 18,500 fans at the Long Beach Arena – is a true world colliding moment, uniquely bringing in the sounds of all three accomplished artists.
This cinematic song illustrates the feeling of a broken heart after a failed relationship, and how you wish you could forget what led you to such a pivotal moment in life.
The new single marks SLANDER’s first time collaborating with multi-platinum-selling artists. “Working with blackbear & Bring Me The Horizon was a dream come true and we are thrilled with how the final version has turned out! We have been fans of both of them for years, so to hear bear and Oli together on one track is truly incredible,” said Derek Andersen.
The official music video is directed by Emil Nava – the talented visual storyteller with directorial credits on videos from Calvin Harris, Ed Sheeran, Khalid, Ellie Goulding, and more. It begins with a close-up shot of blackbear before erupting into a blistering performance with sporadic camera transitions, imagery, and vocals from Oli Sykes of Bring Me The Horizon.
The release of “Wish I Could Forget” marks the start of an extremely busy year for the musicians and label heads, as SLANDER gear up to perform around the world. The guys head out to the desert with two sets at EDC in Las Vegas on May 21st followed by Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza Paris, a Las Vegas residency at Zouk, and more later this year.
