With the aim of empowering more “womenpreneurs” across the country by equipping them with the right business knowledge, tools, and innovations, Globe Business officially sealed the deal on their partnership with the Women’s Business Council Philippines (WomenBizPH).

WomenBizPH is the lead private sector partner of the government, particularly the Department of Trade and Industry and the Philippine Commission on Women, and represents the Philippines in APEC and ASEAN events. They are also the Philippines’ “leading voice of women in commerce,” serving as the platform to facilitate discussions on women’s experiences in business and explore potential government policies and solutions.

The two organizations inked their partnership at the recent Women Lead Conference held in Dusit Thani Manila during this year’s celebration of International Women’s Day. The signing ceremony was led by Angeline Po, Product Marketing Head of the Globe Business MSME Group; Anne David, Integrated Marketing Head of the Globe Business MSME Group; Rosemarie Rafael, WomenbizPH President; and Mylene Abiva, WomenBizPH Chair.

At the conference, Po talked about how she, as a woman leader in a tech company, helps enable other women through technological innovations, and how she leverages these to balance her various roles, whether at work, at home, or in other endeavors. In relation to this, she also talked about how Globe Business’ partnership with WomenBizPH will allow more women like her to expand their knowledge, skills, and network through different learning events and capacity-building activities throughout the year, which will be useful for their entrepreneurial journeys.

One to look forward to is the Women Strong Network’s Hybrid Trade Fair organized by WomenbizPH in partnership with Globe Business to give the network’s members access to market their products both on site and online. Also brewing is the next Women 2 Women Summit.

“Globe Business aims to support women entrepreneurs by addressing their unique challenges, including limited access to funding sources, operational hurdles, and lack of awareness for support networks and programs,” Po said. “Through awareness campaigns and access to networks and resources such as digital solutions and innovations, we aim to alleviate the hurdles and concerns that come with growing a business.”

Overall, the partnership’s vision is to support women in businesses to help them maximize their fullest potential as women entrepreneurs to reach broader and bolder business horizons through digital adoption and transformation.

“As an advocacy group, WomenBizPH is an active force in looking for solutions to challenges that women in leadership and in business generally face,” said Abiva. “Furthermore, we seek to promote women-led and -owned enterprises through networking and through the use of
technology.”
