Araneta City was among the developers in the Philippines to be given the BCI Asia Top 10 Developer Award for 2024 for its visionary approach to urban development, with a special focus on the groundbreaking design and features of Gateway Mall 2.
Given by BCI Central in a ceremony on September 27 at the Shangri-La The Fort, the award places the City of Firsts among the leading developers in the country and across the continent and celebrates its industry-leading innovations in modern architecture, sustainability, and exceptional user experience.
“This recognition is incredibly humbling,” Marjorie Go, VP for Marketing, said. “We at Araneta City have always done our best to deliver meaningful experiences and lifelong memories to our customers through the facilities that form part of the City of Firsts and this accolade is a testament to the impact of our efforts in the lives of our customers.”
Central to this recognition is the Gateway Mall 2, the latest addition to the City of Firsts’ array of innovative developments. More than just being a shopping, dining, and entertainment destination, Gateway Mall 2 is an architectural marvel that redefines urban living in this part of Quezon City.
Among the mall’s standout features is the massive Quantum Skyview with the first indoor ceiling mesh LED screen in the metro, the stunning all-white and uniquely-designed Sagrada Familia Church on the mall’s topmost level, and relaxing spaces like the Sensory Garden and Lagoon. The mall also features more than 150 dining options, taking all customers on a culinary journey of different cuisines from here and around the world.
The BCI Asia Awards, now in its 19th year, recognizes firms that have constructed and designed the most significant volumes of buildings in Asia, as well as those that prioritize ecologically sensitive projects and outstanding interiors. The awards recognize companies from seven Asian markets: Hong Kong, Indonesia, Malaysia, the Philippines, Singapore, Thailand, and Vietnam.
“This award inspires us to continue our mission to create urban spaces that make a meaningful impact on the lives of many by bringing together innovation, sustainability, and culture to create this one-of-a-kind mall. We are incredibly proud to receive this award and our customers can rest assured that we will continue to elevate their experiences and redefine how they shop, eat, play, live, and love,” Go said.
Araneta City’s Gateway Mall 2 received the Mall Innovation Award from the Outstanding Filipino Retailers (OFR) Awards last September 25, and was recognized as New Mall of the Year – Philippines at the Retail Asia Awards 2024 held in Singapore last June.
Apart from the new mall, the City of Firsts is currently constructing the 30-storey Cyberpark 3 office building, which will deliver LEED-certified state-of-the-art facilities to Araneta City’s growing business district in Araneta City. It marks the expansion of the five-tower P25 billion Cyberpark complex, enhancing Araneta City’s position as a leading business district in Metro Manila.
