  • Bluey will be more accessible than ever in the Philippines, with S1 & S2 launching on a Free-To-Air channel in the Philippines for the first time on TV5.
  • The hit show will be dubbed in Tagalog for the very first time.

BBC Studios today announces Bluey will be coming to more screens at home in the Philippines on a local Free-To-Air channel for the first time. Premiering on TV5 on Monday 29 April, the global hit children’s animation series will be more accessible than ever for fans.

Audiences at home can catch over 100 episodes of Bluey from S1 and S2, which has also been dubbed in Tagalog for the very first time, on TV5 every Monday to Friday from 7 am to 8 am and on weekends from 8 am to 9 am.

Since launching in Australia in 2018, Bluey has gained millions of fans around the world; widely lauded for its heartfelt and funny portrayal of family life and celebration of play. Celebrity fans include Eva Mendes, Natalie Portman, and Lin-Manuel Miranda, who have all appeared in the show in cameo roles.

The series follows Bluey, a loveable, inexhaustible, Blue Heeler dog, who lives with her Mum, Dad and her little sister, Bingo. Bluey uses her limitless energy to play games that unfold in unpredictable and hilarious ways, bringing her family and the whole neighbourhood into her world of fun.

A global-ratings hit, Bluey was the *most streamed children’s show last year in the U.S with a viewing time of 43.9 Billion minutes. The series has also enjoyed a plethora of critical success at home and abroad, winning the 2019 International Emmy Kids Award, 2022 British Academy Film Awards (BAFTA) Children & Young People Award in the International category and numerous craft and production awards around the world.

Jointly commissioned by ABC Children’s and BBC Studios Kids & Family, Bluey is produced by multi-Emmy award-winning Ludo Studio in association with Screen Queensland and Screen Australia.

Sophia Spinelli, VP Brands & Marketing, BBC Studios Asia, says: “Bluey has become such a huge hit worldwide and we are thrilled to be making Bluey more accessible to audiences in the Philippines with our partners at TV5. This is the first step in our ambitious plans to expand Bluey’s presence in the Philippines, both on-screen and off-screen for local fans to fully immerse themselves in the world of Bluey and her wonderful Blue Heeler family.”

Guido Zaballero, President and Chief Executive Officer of TV5, says: “The Kapatid Network is proud and excited to be Bluey’s home channel in the Philippines! We have no doubt that it will be a big hit with our Filipino audiences, bringing a lot of joy and laughter to families across the Philippines!”

The series streams to U.S. and global audiences (outside of Australia, New Zealand and China) across Disney Channel, Disney Junior and Disney+ through a global broadcasting deal between BBC Studios Kids & Family and Disney Branded Television. In its native Australia, the show goes out on ABC.
