Southwoods Mall, a flagship property of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls, proudly presents the extraordinary artistic talents of Chennie Tanfelix in celebration of Women’s Month. Featuring her captivating exhibition, “Art In Bilao,” Chennie skillfully showcases the rich diversity of women’s artistry, ingeniously embedded in a common traditional Filipino container, the Bilao. The exhibition is set to grace Southwoods Mall from March 11 to 17.

Chennie Tanfelix, a Registered Medical Technologist, has been honing her artistic skills since her youth. She initially worked with charcoal before transitioning to oil paint utilizing her artistry to earn commissions for school projects and allowances.

During the pandemic, Chennie ingeniously utilized a Bilao from her kitchen to create artwork using her available oil paint supplies. Selling her pieces became a source of income during the challenging times. Chennie continued her passion post-pandemic despite later securing a job, gaining recognition for her unconventional use of oil paint on a Bilao canvas, which she aptly named “Pormang Bilao Pilipina.”

Chennie Tanfelix’s distinctive artworks have captured the spotlight on esteemed mainstream networks such as GMA, ABS-CBN, and Net 25. Her talent has also been highlighted in various radio shows and articles, both locally and internationally.

Chennie’s art exhibit at Southwoods Mall is not just an inspiration for the next generation to pursue their passion alongside professional endeavors, but it also stands as motivation for Filipinas, breaking boundaries and showcasing the limitless possibilities for women. She embodies the essence of “Beauty Beyond Bounds,” serving as a perfect example of resilience and creativity.
