Forbes Town, one of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls’ premier properties, is featuring New Contemporary artist Selah Vie as it celebrates an empowering Women’s Month this March. She will unveil a vibrant rebranding of Forbes Town’s pet installation, infusing it with bubbly and summer-ready vibes, starting March 15.
Angelica Orquin, known by her pseudonym Selah Vie, draws inspiration from the French phrase C’est La Vie, meaning ‘that’s life.’ As a visual storyteller, she utilizes graphics-like portraits to convey powerful messages. Her upcoming art piece, “Summer Blooms,” executed with latex and spray paints, promises to bring a burst of color to the Forbes Town pet statue.
“Summer Blooms” reflects Selah Vie’s urban upbringing, drawing from vibrant colors and inspired by her love for anime, cute elements, and street culture. Her artworks are brilliant expressions of humanity, capturing the essence of her diverse influences and portraying the nuanced journey from innocence to maturity.
Selah Vie shares discussing her artistic evolution, “It was a rollercoaster ride with my perspective towards myself and to my art, (it’s) either it’s a problem or it’s progress, but instead of just looking into it, I choose to see and accept my flaws and the possible beauty in it.”
Selah Vie goes beyond technical expertise using her skills for a higher purpose as a representative in the arts industry. She hopes to inspire patrons by sharing her womanhood through art at Forbes Town to discover the Woman In You, aligning with the mall’s theme for the month.
“Empowerment, possibilities, realizations, and reality. I think it’s my goal too to share my art in a place where people would just be randomly reminded, or be appreciated,” Selah Vie emphasized.
