Mag-Sharon Para Sa Kinabukasan with InLife

It’s the season for festive gatherings and joyous celebrations with our loved ones. And after sharing memorable feasts with our family and friends, we save some food for the coming days.

Akin to Filipino culture, we bring home food after parties and events. This is popularly and happily called “mag-Sharon” referring to Megastar Sharon Cuneta’s famous lyrics “….Balutin mo ako…” from the 1985 song Bituing Walang Ningning.

But for the Megastar, “mag-Sharon” goes beyond taking home food; it means saving for the future. In her latest video for Insular Life (InLife), she encourages Filipinos to save and secure insurance coverage to prepare for life’s uncertainties: “Mag-Sharon Para Sa Kinabukasan with InLife.”

“Ang pag-sha-Sharon, parang pagtatabi lang yan ng savings for the future… dapat dun ka sa trusted and sure na secure parang InLife!” Sharon said.

While wishing Filipinos a joyous holiday season, InLife’s Chief Marketing Officer Gae Martinez said InLife also encourages them to prioritize savings.

“InLife wishes our fellow Filipinos happy holidays. As we approach the New Year and plan our traditional resolutions, we emphasize the importance of financial preparedness, including saving for unforeseen events and investing in life insurance,” Martinez said.

Based on the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas Financial Inclusion Survey, the percentage of Filipino adults with savings fell from 53% in 2019 to 37% in 2021, significantly impacting insurance coverage which also dropped from 23% to 17% during the same period. Responding to this, InLife and Megastar Sharon Cuneta launched the video and a billboard ad in NAIA Terminal 3 to encourage Filipinos and overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) returning home to prioritize their long-term financial security and lead “A Lifetime for Good.”

In the video, Sharon highlighted the importance of financial planning. “We’re not getting any younger kaya dapat handa tayo. That’s why I have both InLife Retire Assure para sa buwanang pension sa pagtanda, and InLife Resilience para wala nang utang dahil sa critical illness. Kumuha ng InLife insurance.”

InLife is the country’s first and largest Filipino life insurance company. With 114 years of uninterrupted service, InLife is every Filipino’s trusted companion when it comes to financial planning. Retire Assure stands as the country’s first true retirement insurance product that provides guaranteed monthly income starting at age 60 until age 100. InLife’s limited pay whole life and health insurance solution Resilience provides accelerated cash payouts and additional health benefits to help policyholders cope with the financial impact of a life-threatening disease. The savings and life insurance solution Abundance helps policyholders set aside funds systematically and get guaranteed regular payouts to make their dreams happen. The customizable insurance product with investment component Wealth Assure Plus adapts to the customers’ needs for life and health protection, savings, and investment.
