Get ready to embark on a journey that spans multiple lifetimes in Thai sci-fi adventure film, “Taklee Genesis x Worlds Collide.” The film follows Stella (Paula Taylor), as she returns to her rural hometown and makes contact with her father, who disappeared 30 years ago. To bring him back, she journeys with her daughter, Valen (Nina Nutthatcha Padovan), and her hometown friends through the “Taklee Genesis” transporter.
Take a look at the characters and actors of “Taklee Genesis x Worlds Collide”:
Paula Taylor is Stella, who returns to her hometown to take care of her ailing mother. Her reconnection with her father, who is stuck in another dimension, sets off her journey through the “Taklee Genesis.” She was immediately drawn to the project because of the passion director Chookiat “Matthew” Sakveerakul had for the film. “He was just so intuitive in the way he was telling his vision and just everything. He was so passionate, and I told him ‘You know what I want? To be a part of your passion. I wanna be in whatever you’ve seen,’” she says.
Peter Corp Dyrendal plays Ithi, a schoolteacher that dreams of being an archeologist. He gets swept up into an interdimensional adventure when his childhood friend Stella discovers the “Taklee Genesis” transporter. Dyrendal was excited to take on “Taklee Genesis x Worlds Collide” because of the unique premise. “I don’t think there’s ever been a movie like this in Thailand before. It’s a sci-fi project that includes time travels, monsters and a lot of challenges, a lot of computer graphics. I know it’s a very enticing project,” he says.
War Wanarat plays Kong, a mysterious resident of Ban Don Hai, Stella’s hometown. When she returns after 30 years, Stella is surprised to see that he seems to still look the same age as when she left. Kong has no memory of his childhood, and any questions to his overprotective father about it is immediately dismissed.
As a self-confessed sci-fi geek, War was elated to be part of “Taklee Genesis x Worlds Collide.” He recalls when he was first approached to be part of the project, “I was over the moon. When Matthew first contacted me and mentioned the word ‘sci-fi,’ I told my manager, ‘Let’s do it!’ My team then said, ‘Calm down! Let’s look at the script and contract first, shall we?’ and I was like, ‘I’ve got to. I’ve just gotta be in this film.’”
Nina Nutthatcha Padovan plays Valen, Stella’s brave daughter who joins the journey through space and time to save Valen’s grandfather. She had a lot of fun during filming, even during the scarier moments. She recalls one particular moment, “The fun part of this movie was the running. When it had dead people falling from the sky, that was so much fun, but it was scary at the same time.”
