With the success of PCCI Cares Fur You Run for a Cause 2023 comes a second run having the same theme. The Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry (PCCI) will hold the PCCI Cares Fur You Run for a Cause 2024, happening on May 19, 2024, at Liwasang Ulalim, CCP Complex in Pasay City.
This family-oriented running event opens opportunities to bond with your family, including your pets, and run for a good cause.
PCCI has been doing advocacy runs for six years already. Its commitment to helping the underprivileged people in the country has been their motivation to keep on doing similar events to support their causes. The proceeds coming from the annual run have aided several projects and disaster relief programs of PCCI- Corporate Social Responsibility’s Relief and Rehabilitation.
For this year’s running event, PCCI wants to extend its support to animal care since the threat of animal cruelty has been rampant nowadays.
“PCCI-CSR expresses its support for animal welfare. With this pet fun run for a cause, care and compassion should not only be given to people but also to our pets. They have delighted us whenever we go home after a day’s work,” tells Ms. Nora Lacuna.
The PCCI-CSR committee believes that this running event will help in raising awareness on the importance of holistic animal care especially during this warm season and contribute to a worthy cause. Studies have shown that during the warm season, it is important to keep our pets moving and hydrated to prevent potential health hazards such as animal obesity, dehydration, among others. Inclusion of regular exercise in their daily routine as well as providing the necessary love and care will help our pets stay fit and healthy.
Likewise, PCCI recognizes the importance of rest and recreation to help empower workers to live healthy. Moreover, participating in this run for a cause supports more worthwhile projects intended for disaster relief and rehabilitation programs of PCCI.
PCCI Cares Fur You Run for a Cause 2024 will feature short- and long-distance running categories including their joining fees – 1km with Pets (P600), 1km with Kids (P500), 1km with Seniors (P800), 3km (P650), 5km (P750), and 10km runs (P850).
