PLDT Inc. and its wireless subsidiary, Smart Communications, Inc. (Smart) reaffirm their commitment to the Public Relations Society of the Philippines (PRSP) through their support to the recently concluded 31st National Public Relations Congress.
The country’s fastest broadband, PLDT Home, powered the much-awaited congress that took place on September 26 to 27, at the Manila Hotel Tent City. Delegates were also given a chance to explore opportunities for partnership at the PLDT and Smart Communities booth, which showcased the advocacies of the PLDT Group in the areas of digital wellness, disaster resilience, education, inclusion, and livelihood, at the event venue.
“As a leading player in the digital services industry, we recognize the importance of public relations in today’s fast-paced, digitally connected world. Supporting this congress allows us to help elevate the industry, share our experiences, and collaborate with the nation’s leading communicators,” said Cathy Yang, PLDT and Smart FVP and Head of Group Corporate Communications. Yang chaired the National PR Congress in 2022.
PLDT and Smart’s active participation underscore their dedication to nurturing a strong communication culture while embracing innovation and technology. The Group also recognizes the vital role of communication in shaping organizational success and fostering collaborations with various stakeholders.
Leading the PLDT and Smart contingent at the congress was Maxine P. Loyola, PLDT Home AVP and Head of Public Relations and Influencer Management. Loyola was one of the keynote speakers during the 30th National PR Congress held in 2023.
Gathering industry leaders, communications professionals, and stakeholders from all over the world for an exchange of ideas, this year’s congress takes on the theme “Into the Unknown: Communication in the Time of VUCA,” and will focus on how volatility, uncertainty, complexity, and ambiguity constantly disrupt the world today.
